Hi My name's Rich and I build treehouses!

I live in the beautiful cotswolds with my wife Louise, two daughters, Evie and Esme & the newest addition to our family, Noah.

After the loss of our son Rupert, in 2017, I realised life’s just too short. I decided to reassess the future and what was important to me and my family. With the help of my amazing wife, encouraging me to make my dream of setting up my own business a reality I registered with Companies House in January 2018 and went for it! The past couple of years have absolutely flown by, and as you can see from my portfolio, I have been super busy which is great!

As a young whippersnapper growing up in Dorset I could always be found in Wareham forest making dens and treehouses. I guess this has always stayed with me and now my children are my inspiration for designing and building exciting tree houses and play equipment.

Building a playhouse in the corner of our garden for the girls was where this journey really began, seeing the absolute joy on their faces when they saw it for the first time. As I am not a wizard and cannot bottle that warm, fuzzy feeling inside, I set up R Design Treehouses LTD to build magical and exciting treehouses and play equipment for other children to make their own adventures and memories.

Having young children, I know the importance of keeping them active and out in the fresh air. I also understand how important it is to encourage physical play, building a tree house with a trap door and rope ladder for example helps build core strength, as well as being a super fun way of accessing the platform!

I’d like to think that with my attention to detail, professional workmanship and letting you have as much input as you’d like into the design really helps me to create that structure you’ve been longing for.

As a small business, where possible I like to support other small local businesses when sourcing materials. I try to use mostly sustainable timber and to reduce my waste I use the surplus wood to create my hand made gifts.

My reputation is my guarantee - but I do also offer a 12 month timber warranty. full terms and conditions are available on request.

Remember treehouses are for everyone - you don't necessarily need a tree (or children) to have one!
